Basilica Candelaria
This Basilica, which in Spanish is called Basílica y Real Santuario Mariano
de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria or in short form Basílica de la Candelaria,
is located a short distance from the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the city
of Candelaria. On August 14 and 15 pilgrims pilgrimage here to join Virgin
Candelaria, the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The basilica has beautiful
paintings on the inside, especially near the altarpiece. This is one of the
largest churches in all of Spain, with room for up to 5000 people. Construction
of the church was completed in 1959.

El Teide
El Teide is the highest mountain in Spain and from the
parking lot by the mountain you can take a cable lift up to 3550 meters. The
price is quite high, rain for about 25 euros per person, but from the top you
get fantastic views of the island. And maybe this will be the highest peak you
will ever reach too?
Kamel park
At the Carretera at Los Christianos you will find a camel park that is open
from about 1000 to 1700 every day. Here you are primarily for a ride on the
camel's back. Fun pastime, but maybe not for those who normally get seasick?
There is a free shuttle bus to Camel Park from Los Christianos and Playa de las
Americas.
Las Aguilas Jungle Parks
For many, this is the big favorite attraction in Tenerife. Not far from Los
Christianos you will find 75,000 square meters of tropical forest with parrots,
penguins and eagles. Parque Las Aguilas is open all year round and there are
free buses from both Los Cristianos and Playa Las Americas. Address is
Carretera, outside Los Christianos.
Loro Parque
Loro Parque is a zoo that has nearly 1.5 million visitors in a year. The zoo
is located just north of Puerto de la Cruz. Here you will find dolphins,
gorillas, tigers and many other rare animals. Daily shows with sea lions and
dolphins. Loro Parque is open from 0830 to 1700. Free "train" from Playa
Martinez in central Puerto de la Cruz to the zoo.
Submarine safari in Tenerife

Submarine Safaris in Tenerife can be found in San
Miguel Marina, just south of the island. Here they established
themselves in 2006 after the success of Lanzarote. As in Lanzarote, the Tenerife
office is open every day of the week and diving takes place at 1000, 1100, 1200
and 1400. The price is about 400 NOK for one hour.
NB! Remember that bookings made online must be made at least 48 hours before
the actual diving is to be completed. The address is Galeria Comerical
Aguamarina, Avda. del Atlantico No. 6, San Miguel de Abona.
La Baranda Wine Museum
In Casa Del Vino La Baranda (El Sauzal), in the city of Puerto de la Cruz,
anyone who loves wine will find their museum. Here you will find countless
varieties of Spanish wines, and you can both taste and buy, while learning more
about wine and the production of this drink. Open from 1100 to 2000 (closed
Mondays, and closes 1800 Sundays). Free entrance.

Tenerife Anthropological Museum
Take a trip to Carretera Tacoronte, Valle de Guerra (Casa de Carta) to learn
about the history and culture of the Canary Islands. Open Tuesday to Sunday from
1000 to 2000. Free admission on Sundays.
Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeológico)
This museum houses an impressive amount of pottery, maps and documents, and
objects that tell the history of the Guanche culture. Archaeological Museum can
be found on Calle Lomo 9 street in the city of Puerto de la Cruz. Open Tuesday
to Saturday from 1000 to 1300 and from 1700 to 2000.
The Pyramids of Guimar
You certainly don't need to go to Egypt to see pyramids. The Guimar Pyramids
have a terrace structure, not unlike the pyramids you may know from Mexico. And
naturally, the pyramids of Tenerife are built of lava stone, and without the use
of any kind of mortar. Originally, there must have been nine pyramids here.
Today, the remains of six pieces, and quite well preserved. Read more and you
